American culture Final Thoughts

This semester we studied about many topics that related to the American culture. Some of these topics teach us a lot about the American history and the American society. In this class we talked about the presidential elections which were something unknown for me. I have learned about how these elections work and how people vote for and choose their candidates. Even though, I'm not interesting in politics, these elections teach me a lot about the American culture. Also , we talked about different kinds of Arts. Actually, I don't know a lot about Arts but this class made me more interested about different kinds of these Arts. Moreover, we talked about some famous artists and their great work. In this class, we also talked about the political music which was and still one of the most effective way that political people use it to make their ideas more dominated. Also they use it to show an accepting or refusing to a political opinion.

In this class i have learned that every culture has its own way to deal with the changes and it also has its own lifestyle. I also learned that the music has the power to change someone's opinion or thoughts. In addition Arts are one of the things that make our lives more easier and more fun. In my opinion, the varieties of cultures around the world are making this world more interesting.

Twentieth Century American Art : A Comparative Study

We studies in our today's class about some famous artistes. These artistes were Louise Nevelson, Jackson Pollock and Ansel Adams. I liked them all. But I prefer Ansel Adams the most because his art can introduce the clear and beautiful nature. Also you can understand his work easily and he can explain a lot of things in one picture and I think he can explain the life in one picture. On the other hand, I didn't like Jackson Pollock because I'm not interesting in painting and I think his work is hard to understand.

Campaign Race

Last week in the class,we were talking about the debate for the American elections, and how it became apart of the American culture. It's became a part from the American culture because people here know their rights and they know that their participation in these elections can give them the opportunity to decide how they want to live.

We talked about the campaign race and what are the candidates Romney and Obama planning to do if they won these elections. I was with the group who was supporting Romney.......

So if you have the rights to vote , who do you think you are going to vote for and why???

People at his neighborhood always try to avoid him and they always think that he is dangerous. Many people in this neighborhood has a bad concept about  African American , they thought that all of them are criminals. So John has became very angry because of what happen form his neighbors or the police .

Culture Differences and Similarities

There  are many differences and similarities between the Saudi culture and the American culture on holidays. In Saudi Arabia and America when someone invite you to his house you should bring something with you , it could be flowers, food or a gift. Also , they are similar in the way they celebrate for the wedding anniversary. They buy gift for each other or they spend the night together.
In Saudi Arabia we don't usually celebrate for birthdays, bit if we did we invite friends and family. Also,we bring some gifts and sweets.

In Saudi when you invite someone to dinner you have to pay ,but in United State each one will pay for himself. The wedding culture in Saudi Arabia is different from American culture. In Saudi Arabia wedding are always at night and the women are separated from men , but in America weddings can be at anytime of the day and women can stay together and they can drink and talk with them.

In today ‘s class we have discussed a song by Pete Seegar that compere between two classes of society, which is poor class and rich class. In his song “This Land Is Your Land” seegar was trying to proof that people should be equal in their land. He was hoping that every one in his country should have what he deserve. He also said that people who works hard should get good rewords “maybe you’ve been working as hard as you’re able, But you’ve got crumbs from the rich man’s table’. Also he was explaining who poor people suffer form poverty and who they became with no goal because of this. But he also was trying to motivate himself to be stronger.................
